Toyota Material Handling: Training and Development for Forklift Service Technicians

As a contract Instructional Designer at Toyota Material Handling (TMH), I am deeply involved in developing comprehensive training programs for Sales Associates and Forklift Technicians. My responsibilities span content writing, multimedia design, video production, and gamification, all aimed at delivering an engaging, informative, and professional e-learning experience.

A critical project I had the opportunity to work on was "The Forklift Classes," an extensive sales training program. This training series highlighted the features of TMH's entire product fleet, enabling sales associates to understand better and communicate each product's unique selling points. Using industry-specific language and gamification elements, I created an immersive learning environment that resonated with the trainees.

Another significant project was "The Toyota Precepts." This course provided an overview of Toyota Corporation's corporate values, instilling a sense of company culture and ethos in the employees. The challenge was to convey these core values in an engaging and meaningful way. By leveraging my expertise in educational content creation, I was able to craft a program that effectively communicated these principles while fostering a deeper connection between the employees and the company.

"The General Awareness" project focused on promoting workplace safety for service technicians. It was crucial to make this content engaging and impactful, given its importance to the well-being of the technicians. I incorporated interactive elements and real-life scenarios to keep the learners engaged while emphasizing the critical safety information.

Overall, my work at TMH has allowed me to apply my skills and knowledge in instructional design to create tailored e-learning solutions that educate, engage, and inspire.
